Letter to Clarissa A. Towne (sister) from Fulton, Tennessee, describing obstacles faced by the 4th Minnesota Regiment en route to Vicksburg. Albert Towne was at that time a corporal with Company B of the 32nd Iowa Volunteers.

Albert L. Towne of Mason City, Iowa, enlisted 22 August 1862 as a Second Corporal and served in Company B of the 32nd Iowa Volunteers. He was later promoted to full corporal, 3rd sergeant, and finally 2nd sergeant. He was discharged on 24 August 1865 at Clinton, Iowa. He died 9 September 1912 and is buried at Sunset Rest, Northwood, Worth County, Iowa. From the description of [Letter, 1863 April 23] Fulton, Tennessee [to] Clarissa A. Towne, Worth County, Iowa.
